Standing in the valley and looking northeast  toward the

northern ridge leading to CLEMAN MOUNTAIN

- 5,000 feet: a 15-mile-long ridge  formed by a fold in the Columbia

 Basin lava flows more than 10 million years ago.

 The Wenas Valley is beyond the horizon.
