NACHES VALLEY 15

Standing on the foothills and looking north toward  - CLEMAN MOUNTAIN - 

5,000 feet: a 15-mile-long  ridge formed by a fold in the Columbia Basin lava flows more

than 10 million years ago. It rises above the Naches Valley to the left and

the Wenas Valley to the right. Bunchgrass (Festuca campestris) and Greasewood

(Sarcobatus vermiculatus Hook. Torr.)  in the foreground.
